The Trailer
This particular shot is a shot that we would like to use in our trailer. the use of the dark lighting creates a shadow on his face which gives the charcater a sense of mystery. Also the use of a spotlight that hits his eye is also a really good effect because it draws attention straight to the eye and it almost looks as though we are looking into his memories. This is the effect that we are trying to create so using this as our research source would be a good idea. If we can create this effect at this sort of standard then it will set the film off well. There is also one main narration used on the trailer this is because he is telling people what has happened and about his condition whilst all of the memories are coming to life onscreen. This could be a good idea to use in our film if the heartbeat sound isn't effective.
There are also moments when you feel as a viewer that you are listening in on his thoughts. In one particular scene you hear him say 'what have I done' as he drags away a body. This is quite effective as it is very psychological and almost chilling to hear someones thoughts. It could be quite a good technique to have our actor talk over his memories as this could make it almost uncomfortable for the viewer which is sort of the type of reaction that we want to create.
The camera angles used are always based around the main character, as he talks he almost looks scared and bewildered. His facial expression is captured in all scenes so that the audience can almost feel like him.
